A festival of light installation and chill out music in the background of the Onsen smokestack! The Venue is the entire Onsen village of Shibu one hour by car from Nagano City of Shinshu, loved by people of the arts, and timelessly traditional from 1300 years ago. With the 9 external baths in a picturesque Japanese ally, this is where tradition lies. The main Inn “Kanaguya” is one of the models of the worldly famous Japanese Anime “Spirited Away”. It is an unprecedented, one and only Onsen Chill Out Event.

The main venue is considered as one of the models of the animation movie “Spirited Away” The Live performance at the top floor of Kanaguya’s Saigetsuro, a 133 tatami floor room.
Also an optional tour to hell’s Valley Onsen to see the worldly famous Snow Monkeys.

This event is a spectacle like no other!
But of course, at first quite hard to imagine.
Please allow a brief introduction.
Imagine a traditional Japanese village, The Shibu Onsen Village to be exact, where the villagers still preserves detailed structures of buildings from over the centuries and stone embedded streets with lantern lit alleys.
Every corner you turn, in this small village of approximately 5 street blocks, you will witness a timeless enchantment from markings of history.
And as a center piece of that historical mirage, stands a arabesque, enormity of a building of sort, but mind you, a building in the perspective of not the modern eye but of the ancient kind.
A 4 story wooden building named “Kanaguya” for Steel smith, has kept the order in this small Onsen village for over 000 years. A monstrosity of a wooden 4-story building had been unthinkable in those days, when a high-rise single story roof was even thought revolutionary.
Though a wooden 4-story building is now prohibited by law, Kanaguya built before even those restrictions, still remain perfectly intact and more powerful than ever.
This Onsen village is guided with one main street where various Inns, food stands, and exterior onsens line with 4~5 parallel avenues along both sides of main street. And countless mysterious and inviting streets and alleys where secrets of the Shibu Onsen village lie.
